Under the supervision of the Project Manager and in collaboration with the engineers, the Structural Technician will participate in the preparation and coordination of technical documents for building projects. The successful candidate will produce structural drawings, details, and models; assist with multidisciplinary coordination; and contribute to the quality of the team’s deliverables.
Main Responsibilities

Prepare and revise structural drawings, details, sections, and elevations for concrete, steel, wood, masonry, and foundation projects.

Produce formwork, reinforcing, framing, foundation, slab-on-grade, and other structural drawings based on engineers’ directions.

Create, update, and coordinate structural models using Revit.
-
Prepare drawing sheets, schedules, annotations, standard details, and issue packages.
-
Use AutoCAD for producing, revising, and detailing structural documents.
-
Participate in coordination with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines.

Use tools to review models and identify coordination clashes.
-
Incorporate comments from engineers, architects, contractors, and other professionals into drawings and models.

Participate, as needed, in existing-building surveys, site visits, and preparation of technical sketches or field measurements.

Ensure compliance with drawing standards, naming conventions, templates, and quality-control procedures.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of AutoCAD and Revit templates, Revit families, standard details, and BIM workflows.

Assist with project-file organization, drawing revisions, and the preparation of tender or construction issue packages.
Desired Profile
-
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Building Drafting, or equivalent training.
-
Approximately 2 to 10 years of relevant experience in structural drafting, building drafting, or consulting-engineering drawing production.
-
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
-
Knowledge of program for BIM coordination, and multidisciplinary model exchanges.
-
Good understanding of structural systems and construction methods involving concrete, steel, wood, masonry, and foundations.
-
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and multidisciplinary drawings.
-
Knowledge of drawing standards and practices applicable to building projects in Québec.
-
Experience producing formwork, reinforcing, framing, or foundation drawings is a significant asset.
-
Knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, SharePoint/OneDrive, Dynamo, Python, or automation tools.
-
Familiarity with software or tools related to artificial intelligence.
-
Detail-oriented, organized, autonomous, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
-
Ability to work in a bilingual environment.
