Job Description
Job Title: Project Manager – Multi-Residential
Location: South Shore of Montreal
Job Type: Full-time
Sector: Wood Construction / Multi-Residential / Institutional
Salary: $80,000 to $110,000 depending on experience
Job Summary
You have experience in construction project management, you understand plans, the sequence of work, technical coordination, and you would like to stay close to the concrete, without spending your weeks running around job sites? We are looking for a project manager to join a well-established Quebec company, active in wood construction projects, mainly in multi-residential and institutional sectors. The position is based on the South Shore of Montreal. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to evolve in a technical, structured role close to operations, while having more stability than a traditional site role. Here, the role is not a classic site project manager position. The person mainly acts as an internal conductor once the contract is obtained. They coordinate plans, technical drawings, materials, procurement, production, schedules, and quality. This is a great opportunity for someone who knows construction, enjoys coordination, wants to stay connected to operations, but seeks more structure, predictability, and internal collaboration than a traditional field role.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate projects once the contract is obtained
- Work with the technical drawing team
- Ensure that plans meet client needs
- Coordinate necessary technical adjustments
- Collaborate with procurement for materials
- Follow the sequence of work in production
- Validate that elements are completed according to plans
- Ensure that work is done in the correct order
- Collaborate with quality control
- Identify inconsistencies, defects, or potential risks
- Clearly communicate priorities and internal follow-ups
- Ensure adherence to schedules
- Connect with the right internal teams at the right time
Desired Profile
The desired profile:
- Relevant experience in construction
- Intermediate to senior profile, autonomous and structured
- Experience in multi-residential, institutional, or commercial sectors
- Good understanding of wood framing
- Ability to read and interpret plans
- Good understanding of the construction sequence
- Experience in project coordination, technical coordination, or project management
- Ability to work with multiple internal stakeholders
- Rigor, organization, and good judgment
- Calm, clear, and structured leadership
- Ability to spot inconsistencies before they become problems
On a human level, we are looking for someone reliable, rigorous, and solution-oriented. A person capable of tracking multiple elements in parallel, clearly communicating the actual status of files, and maintaining control over priorities. The role may be particularly interesting for a project manager tired of running job sites, a technically strong superintendent who wants to evolve, or a wood construction / multi-residential profile who wants to stay in the concrete while gaining stability.
Work Environment
This role is really focused on internal technical coordination. It is not a traditional site position. The selected person will evolve in an environment close to plans, quality, production, and operations. The position will particularly suit someone who wants to stay connected to construction and concrete issues, while enjoying a more stable, structured, and collaborative framework than a classic job site environment. The environment is entrepreneurial, concrete, and focused on continuous improvement, within a growing large projects team.
Benefits
- Salary between $80,000 and $110,000, depending on experience
- Possibility to slightly exceed for a strong application
- 4 weeks of vacation upon hiring
- Group insurance after 3 months
- RRSP / DPSP with employer contribution
- Gym accessible 7 days a week
- Coach and fitness classes
- Relaxation room, terrace, and lounge
- Growing large projects team
- Entrepreneurial, concrete, and focused on continuous improvement environment
- Role close to plans, quality, production, and operations
