Sous la responsabilité du chef de service adjoint de la production, le machiniste CNC de niveau 1 est responsable de régler et conduire diverses machines-outils, de même que de l'outillage à commande numérique, pour exécuter des travaux d'usinage de précision. Le machiniste CNC usine des pièces ayant un degré de difficulté simple ou intermédiaire, modifie les programmes et effectue ses propres réglages («set-up»).

Compétences et diplômes recherchées

Diplôme d’études professionnelles en technique d’usinage OU Diplôme d’études collégiales en génie mécanique;
Attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) en contrôle numérique, un atout;
Capacité à lire des plans et des devis techniques;

Tâches et responsabilités

Lire et interpréter des plans, des graphiques et des tableaux;
Effectuer les vérifications préalables aux travaux d’usinage afin de s’assurer de disposer des éléments nécessaires: outils, gabarits, programme, matériels requis, etc.;
Effectuer les réglages («set-up»), calculer les dimensions et les tolérances, mesurer et agencer les éléments à usiner; prendre les coordonnées d’origine et démarrer le programme en effectuant les vérifications nécessaires;
Vérifier les premières pièces et calculer les mesures pour ensuite acheminer celles-ci au département d’inspection pour leur approbation;
Effectuer les corrections sur les pièces suite à l’inspection, s’il y a lieu, et démarrer la production;
Régler et conduire les machines-outils, de même que l’outillage à commande numérique;
Ajuster, au besoin, et régler les machines-outils à l'intention des opérateurs de machines-outils;
Vérifier les dimensions des pièces usinées et de l'outillage à l'aide de micromètres, de verniers, de calibres, de calibres de hauteur, de comparateurs optiques et autres appareils et matériels spécialisés de mesurage pour ensuite compléter et rédiger les rapports d’inspection qui y sont rattachés;
Relever tout écart de dimension des pièces par rapport aux spécifications et aux tolérances, et en aviser le chef d’équipe;
Offrir l’assistance technique nécessaire aux opérateurs lors des ajustements
Participer à la formation et à l’intégration des employés nouvellement en fonction dans leur poste;
Participer aux travaux d’amélioration continue et voir à toujours améliorer les méthodes de travail et façons de faire dans le service.
