Permanent position

Evening shift – Monday to Thursday 2:20 p.m. to 12:20 a.m.

The Mirabel plant of Safran Landing Systems (or Safran Systèmes d'Atterrissage in Quebec) manufactures major landing gear components for the Airbus A320, A330, A340 and A350 models, and the Boeing 787. finds state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing and special processes, including heat treatment, shot blasting and surface treatments.

Responsibilities:

You will carry out, using manual air tools or semi-automatic equipment, the lapping of the attachment points of the main landing gear components, according to specifications. This operation requires a high level of precision in order to create the exact dimensions of the rings which will be installed to subsequently accommodate the other mechanical parts.

You will also be called to:

  • inspect parts using measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications
  • machine using a lathe and fit the rings
  • apply sealant
  • complete appropriate Quality Assurance documentation
  • contribute to the continuous improvement of operations and the achievement of objectives in terms of safety, quality, costs, on-time deliveries

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required (DES) (Equivalence certificate not accepted)
  • Experience of manual work with pneumatic tools in a manufacturing environment
  • Work experience in manual running-in or assembly in aeronautics an asset
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and use measuring instruments (verniers and micrometers)
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Computer knowledge (basic)
  • Ability to work meticulously and precisely
