Project Manager (Mining)

The Mandate

Our client, a recognized company in the mining sector, is looking for a Project Director to lead the planning, execution and delivery of large-scale mining projects, from the design phase to commissioning. You will act as a central point of contact between engineering and construction teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and the highest quality and safety standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of a mining project (design, procurement, construction, commissioning)
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and to agreed specifications
• Liaise with civil and mining engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
• Produce clear progress reports for management and stakeholders stakeholders
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams

Desired Profile

• Degree in civil or mining engineering
• Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, ideally in the mining sector
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects (budget, schedule, multidisciplinary teams)
• Good knowledge of applicable mining sector standards (Directive 19, etc.)
• Strong leadership, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills
• Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) — an asset
• Bilingualism (French/English) — an asset, depending on project needs
