YOUR DUTIES

- As part of the new product development process:

- You will actively participate in all stages of the board and system development to ensure optimal manufacturing;

- You will lead the DFM/A (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) reviews and keep up to date the related guidelines;

- You will define the product packaging and coordinate its development and qualification activities;

- You will be the main interface between the designers and the internal/external manufacturing sites for all assembly process aspects;

- You will define the optimal assembly sequences and establish the standard assembly times;

- You will actively participate in the new product introduction activities and manufacturing qualification, during production transfer to electronic manufacturer suppliers;

- You will provide support to internal production and manufacturer suppliers; occasional evening calls and travels to the manufacturer supplier’s sites could be required;

- You will collaborate with other operation groups and the quality department to evaluate and qualify new suppliers and monitor the performance of the existing ones;

- You will evaluate, recommend and implement new equipment, manufacturing methods and technologies in order to ensure an optimal technological progress of manufacturing suppliers and for internal production;

- You will occasionally review and optimize the production floor layout;

- You will manage the training and qualification process for production and quality control employees for new processes, assembly methods and manufacturing standards as well as for the operation of production and inspection equipment;

- You will manage production equipment preventive maintenance activities;

- You will collaborate with other groups, suppliers and subcontractors for continuous improvements activities;

- Finally you will contribute to maintain a pleasant and respectful work atmosphere.

The ideal skills

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or College degree with relevant and significant experience;

- Experience: Ideally 5 years in activities related to DFM/A (Design For Manufacturing/Assembly) activities, new product introduction and manufacturing support activities in a board and system assembly environment;

- Knowledge: Manufacturing processes, as well as the latest related technologies in the manufacturing field, DFM/A and industrialisation concepts for electronic products; Microsoft Office business suite software; good knowledge of CAD viewing tools;

- Assets: Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes; experience in problem solving with suppliers of mechanical components, cables and PCB; knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods;

- Profile: Excellent communication, analytical, writing, organizational and planning skills; excellent problem solving capabilities for complex technical problems; autonomous, meticulous and fast learner;

- Languages: French and English (speak and write fluently).
