Reporting to the HSE Coordinator, the incumbent will have the primary responsibility for monitoring the execution of work in the remote tropical region and for providing advice on occupational health and safety. The incumbent will have to maintain a close link with the project teams and ensure compliance with the HSE standards established by the project.
The prevention officer must:
• Conduct daily site inspections and recommend necessary measures to ensure the safety and health of workers and issue correction notices, if any, and follow-up. • Identify and anticipate health and safety issues and risks by surveying environmental, operational and professional conditions; investigate violations and recommend prevention programs • Conduct site safety audits • Participate in drafting site specific safety instructions • Assist and / or lead site committee meetings • Participate in worker safety breaks • Work with workers to correct dangerous situations and educate them to promote and elevate HSE culture on site. • Conduct incident investigations and report when necessary.
