Project manager - Cabinetmaking workshop

The Cabinetmaking workshop project is aimed at a cohort of 15 young people / year from 16 to 19 years old who develop a passion and an interest for professions in the cabinetmaking sector. It is a question of recovering the wood from the cutting of trees in the territory of Montreal-North in order to transform it and achieve the manufacture of street furniture used for the development of public and private spaces. The project consists of 4 main activities, including courses in the form of a training module, practical furniture manufacturing workshops, individual follow-up sessions and an adequate system for the sale and sale of manufactured street furniture. This project is simultaneously a project of social economy, education, social enhancement and improvement of the living environment of the young participants.

The person sought will carry out the following tasks:

  • Coordinate and plan all activities
  • Supervise and supervise the team
  • Management of the whole administrative tasks related to the implementation of the project (budget management, reporting, etc.)
  • Optimizing relationships with all project partners
  • Develop and maintain Formal and informal modes of exchange and mobilization with the various partners (school, community and institutional)
  • Make the project known to young people and train the cohorts
  • Ensure the safety of participants and compliance with the standards linked to the project
  • Carrying out process evaluation, performance monitoring and impact
  • Animate the steering committee which brings together the main actors of the project
  • Convene and lead the advisory committee and sit on external working committees as well as concertation tables related to the fight against dropping out of school and 'employability.

  • Bachelor in Management Science or any other field deemed relevant, higher and / or additional training an asset.
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience in coordination and animation in the community environment
  • Good knowledge of the community and school environment
  • Knowledge of clients aged 14 to 16
  • Management experience management, organization and planning
  • Experience in personnel management
  • Ability to use computer software (Word, Excel, Power point)
  • Writing skills
  • Knowledge and interest in cabinetmaking
  • Knowledge of Montreal North, an asset

Working conditions:

  • Flexible full-time schedule (28h / week)
  • 1 year contract with possibility of renewal
