Job Description
A recognized company in the field of institutional construction is looking for a senior estimator in architecture to ensure strategic succession.
The project portfolio is primarily between $10M and $25M, with large-scale mandates that can exceed these amounts. The organization mainly operates in the public and institutional sector.
You will work directly under the general management, alongside other senior estimators (HVAC and plumbing).
Main Responsibilities
Thoroughly analyze plans, specifications, and tender documents (mainly public)
Accurately quantify materials, labor, and indirect costs
Structure overall estimates in a general contractor mode
Assess risks, exclusions, and strategic opportunities
Solicit and compare subcontractor prices
Participate in bid closing meetings
Conduct site visits to properly assess complexity
Collaborate closely with internal disciplines
Actively contribute to the optimization and modernization of estimation tools
Desired Profile
DEC in architecture technology or civil engineering
Significant experience (ideally 10 years and +) in estimation with a general contractor
Strong understanding of public tenders
Developed site vision and keen sense of profitability
Professional stability
Advanced mastery of Excel
Tech Savvy Profile – Strong Asset
The architecture department is undergoing a digital transition. We are looking for someone who:
Already masters estimation or take-off software
Has participated in the implementation or optimization of digital tools
Uses Revit, AutoCAD, or similar tools for quantities
Is comfortable with improving technological processes
Working Conditions
Position mainly on-site
Modern closed offices
Planned succession: knowledge transfer with the current senior estimator (≈ 3 years)
Structured team with three estimation departments
Offered Benefits
Salary: $80,000 to $130,000 based on experience and profile
4 to 6 weeks of vacation based on experience
4 mobile days per year
