Asset management advisor

General responsibilities:

The person in this position plays a key role in providing strategic support to UMQ members in the area of asset management. In particular, she participates in the development of coaching workshops designed to guide members in the implementation of integrated municipal asset management strategies. She monitors available subsidy programs, new developments in asset management, municipal infrastructure issues, etc. She organizes and co-facilitates discussion forums between municipalities, and may sit on various working committees in the field of urban infrastructure.  

Specific responsibilities: 

  • Raise awareness and support municipalities on the different stages and tools available to develop an asset management plan;  
  • Identify the challenges encountered by municipalities in developing an asset management plan and offer targeted training to support them; 
  • Provide strategic guidance for the implementation of asset management plans, in collaboration with partners;
  • Assess the needs of general management in terms of technical support;
  • Organize training and information sessions with experts;
  • Encourage participation and mobilize members around consultation tables and inter-municipal committees;
  • Propose, monitor and share performance indicators via dashboards intended for members, partners and government bodies;
  • Contribute to the development of program budget forecasts; Develop and consolidate the partner network

Specific skills: 

  • Political sense; 
  • Curiosity and intellectual rigor; 
  • Knowledge in the creation of asset management plans; 
  • Excellent spoken and written in French; 
  • Knowledge in project management. 

Specific knowledge: 

  • University degree in engineering or any other relevant field; 
  • Strong interest in the municipal, public and parapublic sector; 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite software;
  • Comfort with BI tools and other new technological trends related to the infrastructure field;
  • A certification in asset management is considered an asset.
