As part of Greater Montreal's economic development strategy, CargoM was launched in 2012 to support the industrial clusters established in recent years.
CargoM brings together all the companies and stakeholders in the logistics and transport sector to coordinate its development. More specifically, CargoM's mission is to undertake important projects, publicize Montreal's position as a hub for freight transportation, ensure the sharing of leading-edge practices and technologies, and promote the attraction and retention of workers in the industry's various sectors.
The Cluster is made up of industrial, institutional, associative, and governmental members. The Cluster’s governance is made up of the Members' Assembly, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee. Industry members represent the following sectors: air transport, rail transport, maritime transport and terminals, exporters importers, committees and associations, road transport, and logistics intermediaries, administrations and shared infrastructure, and educational and research institutions.

To bring together the Greater Montreal freight transport and logistics stakeholders whose activities promote Montreal as an industry hub around common goals and concerted actions to increase its cohesion, competitiveness, growth, and reach.
Vision
To establish Greater Montreal as a recognized intermodal hub, sought after for its operational and environmental performance as well as its contribution to the competitiveness of its business partners and the economic development of Greater Montreal and Quebec.
The Executive Director is responsible for leading and ensuring the sustainability of the Logistics and Transportation Metropolitan Cluster of Montreal under the direction of the Board of Directors. CargoM's permanent staff consists of an Executive Director, two (2) project managers, and one (1) executive assistant.
