Product Specialist – Root Cause Analysis

A key member of our dedicated quality team.

He is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to take corrective actions to resolve field issues, working closely with service, engineering, R&D, and operations.

He has full responsibility for managing production defects and works with the supply chain to identify required corrective actions and obtain supplier support.

He develops and implements improvements to item and product quality.

He will evaluate and investigate product issues based on production non-conformance and field defect data, drive root cause analysis, and oversee proper implementation.

Job Description

  • Create and monitor field defects using an appropriate dashboard using the following: Connected data and lead root cause investigations.
  • Present a monthly summary of major annual and monthly defects and the related status of root cause analysis and resolution projects.
  • Promote problem solving and root cause analysis activities within SAD, developing a consistent approach and methodology while working with the Continuous Improvement Leader.
  • Lead all customer and supplier root cause investigations, working with a consistent and supported team approach. Including key resources from DAS, Madison, and suppliers as needed.
  • Work with the R&D team as part of the INP process to assess product issues in the field and ensure corrections are incorporated into the new design.
  • Lead the monthly field defect review with Quality, Production, R&D, and Service.
  • Manage the product nonconformance process, develop solutions with suppliers, and guide supplier communication by providing supply chain support.
  • Effectively perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Experience

  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with knowledge of HVAC
  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt or Black Belt.
  • Knowledge of various quality system methodologies: 8D, Lean, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PPAP, etc.
  • Proven track record in solving deep-rooted problems while removing barriers and working cross-functionally.

Special Skills

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in quality, engineering, and improvement.
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels (written and verbal) in both French and English.
  • Ability to work seamlessly within multifunctional teams.
  • Previous experience analyzing manufacturing or product quality-related data, such as process capabilities, CPS, Pareto, or other data. Related
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality system practices.
  • Experience with new product design and engineering practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI).
  • Ability to travel to client sites for survey analysis, primarily within Canada and the United States.
