Conventional Machinist

Work Location: Montreal (in-person)
Schedule: Full-time – Day and Evening Shifts
Salary: Between $28 and $35/hour (depending on experience)

Job Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced conventional machinist to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for operating various conventional machining equipment (lathe, milling machine, grinder, etc.) to precisely manufacture or modify mechanical parts according to technical plans and specifications.

Main Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications

• Install and adjust tools, parts, and fixtures

• Set machining parameters and perform necessary operations

• Check the dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometer, vernier caliper, etc.)

• Make necessary adjustments to ensure part conformity

• Perform basic equipment maintenance and keep your workstation clean and safe

• Collaborate with the production team and the technical department

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in conventional machining

• Good knowledge of traditional machine tools (lathe, milling machine, etc.)

• Ability to read complex mechanical plans

• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments

• Autonomy, attention to detail, and meticulousness

• Relevant training in machining techniques (DEP or equivalent)

Assets :

• Experience in a custom production environment

• Knowledge of welding or industrial mechanics

• Fluency in French and English is an asset

• Driver's license and vehicle (depending on the plant location)
